In addition to the exercise and training we are doing I have been busy with the biggest battle of all for me....food!
As per the information from Scott we need to be eating high protein, low carbs and obviously cutting out the sources of fat - cake, chocolate etc
I have always struggled with my diet, I love basically anything that isnt good for me and it is taking real will power not to just stuff my face, but a few things are stopping me..
1) The fight - In order to condition properly and be in the best position possible I need to be eating right as well as training right
2) My health - I know that the fatty and sugary foods I have always eaten along with the beery nights out have been detrimental, but only in recent months have I actually contemplated the end results of treating my body like a bin over the years. When you read stories about people having heart attacks at 50 it seems a long way off when you are 21/22 years old but now at 31 it is getting too close for comfort and I want to give myself the best chance of seeing any kids I have grow up.
The fight has given me a great oppurtunity to overhaul my diet and I am doing so, if I do eat something I consider to be on the bad list I will work myself even harder in the gym to compensate.
Loving the journey so far, and having seen, and been trying to keep up with the training programme this week I reckon I might even see that elusive 6 pack if I keep up with the boxing after the fight itself!
Big Love
